Knitting Socks in progress

EN: I love knitting socks, it’s something relaxing about it. And I thought that by writing about this and showing you pictures, you might want to give it a try yourself 🙂 Join the sockalong, you know you want to, mwhahaha! :))

A few weeks ago I got my short Aldi circular needles – 3 mm, 20 cm long – and I really needed some time to adjust to working with such small needles. But half an hour into the sock, I managed to get my rhythm. And boy, oh boy, it’s a lot faster with small circular needles. I do have to take small breaks from time to time, to prevent finger stiffness and even the eye doctor recommended I take it easy if I want to have healthy eyes. So, about 5 minutes every hour I take a break, play with my cat, check out InstaGram and before I realize, the sock is done.

Meanwhile I got Christine’s book and I love it. It’s easy to understand, even by a non native English speaker, like myself.

I got 4 ply sock yarn and the first sock made of this ball of yarn is done, the second is … well, at its heel 😀 Because it’s really impossible to cast on the short circular needles, I used regular – DPN – 2.5 mm needles to cast on 48 stitches, switching to circular and then back on the regular for the heel part. It’s quite easy and relaxing.

So, what do you say, can you give it a try? 🙂
