Drops Meadow CAL – clue 2

EN: The second clue in Drops Meadow CAL is online and I already made my 5 new squares. As I previously said, I work with Drops Safran, which is combed cotton. A wonderful yarn, comparable with Barka cotton – also combed – but not as expensive as Barka. And, IMHO, a bit better combed.

The difference between mercerized and combed cotton – in working with it – is that you have to be more careful not to pull out strings of yarn from the combed one. The mercerized is one string of yarn, very tight spin.

I usually crochet while listening to podcasts or audiobooks, but I also crochet while watching The Good Wife (long live Netflix!). And because the squares are worked behind the flower – in this CAL – I pulled out a few times a tiny string of the yarn. Now, I know how to put it back and make it look pretty again, but I just wanted to let you know this can happen and that you may need to pay a little more attention to the project and less to that TV show – I really like Alicia’s impeccable style.

Quite often I get messages about different yarns and projects – mostly from my Romanian readers – and this is why I write about the yarn I use on the blog, so anyone can read an opinion about a certain type of yarn. Of course opinions may vary and that’s really ok.

I am really trying to spend less time online and more time working.
